HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

2010 was packed with joys and sorrows..health and illness...life and death...laughter and tears...dreams fulfilled and unfulfilled.

It had its ups...its downs...its ins...its outs...and...in a few hours it will be just a memory...gone forever.

My wish for 2011 is that we take the lessons learned from this past year...and...move forward with thankfulness...and...hope...into a new year filled with nothing but promise!

PRAYER FOR THE YEAR FOR PRIESTS

Dear Lord,
We pray that the Blessed Mother wrap her mantle around your priests and through her intercession strengthen them for their ministry.
We pray that Mary will guide your priests to follow her own words:
"Do whatever He tells you (John 2:5).
May your priests have the heart of Saint Joseph, Mary's most chaste spouse.
May the Blessed Mother's own pierced heart inspire them to embrace all who suffer at the foot of the cross.
May your priests be holy, filled with the fire of your love, seeking nothing but your greater glory, and the salvation of souls.
Amen.

PRAYER TO THE APOSTLE PAUL

PROCEDURE FOR THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

1. Greet the priest.

2. While making the Sign of the Cross say: "Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been (length of time) since my last confession."

3. List your sins. Use this link to help you examine your conscience beforehand:

4. When you are done say: "For these and all the sins of my past life I am truly sorry."

5. Listen for Father's advice and your Penance.

6. Pray The Act of Contrition (see below).

7. Wait for Absolution.

8. Make the Sign of the Cross as Father blesses you.

9. Thank, Father and go do your Penance.

10. Bask in the glow of renewal and peace!

Act of Contrition

My God,
I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You whom I should love above all things.

I firmly intend with Your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered and died for us. In His name, my God have mercy.

III. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away." I fly to Your Mercy, Compassionate God, Who alone are good.

Miraculous Medal Novena

Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O God, who did instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His consolation, through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you. (Pray 3 times.)

O Lord Jesus Christ, who for the accomplishment of Your greatest works, have chosen the weak things of the world, that no flesh may glory in Your sight; and who for a better and more widely diffused belief in the Immaculate Conception of Your Mother, have wished that the Miraculous Medal be manifested to Saint Catherine Laboure, grant, we beseech You, that filled with like humility, we may glorify this mystery by word and work. MEMORARE

Remember, O most compassionate Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your assistance, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of Virgins, our Mother; to you we come; before you we kneel sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your clemency hear and answer them. Amen.

NOVENA PRAYER

Novena To The Immaculate Heart of Mary

O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children, we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially:

Almighty and Everlasting God, Who, by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most glorious Archangel St. Michael Prince of Your Church, make us worthy, we ask You, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into Your Presence.

This we ask through the merits of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil.
